Free Area Attractions

You can borrow passes to the attractions listed below with your library card. Unless specified, each pass must be returned to the GPL the same day it is borrowed. Use the library's drop boxes to return passes when the library is closed. Thanks to the Friends of the Greenfield Public Library for providing these passes.

NOTES: Borrowers may reserve ONE (1) attraction's pass for any given day.
Patrons must have a PIN (instructions) to reserve passes online
There is a limit of 4 open requests at any one time.

ERIC CARLE MUSEUM OF PICTURE BOOK ART at 125 W. Bay Rd. in Amherst. Hours Tuesday - Saturday 10 - 4, Sunday 12 - 4. (413) 658-1100 for exhibit listings. The pass is good for up to two adults and four children. Visit www.picturebookart.org for additional information.	HISTORIC DEERFIELD is off Routes 5 & 10 in Deerfield. For current hours and exhibits, call (413) 665-2805. Regular hours are daily 9:30 - 4:30. The library has two passes, each of which is good for four admissions and both may be borrowed for a party of more than 4. Present the pass at Hall Tavern to pick up admission tickets to the museum houses.		MAGIC WINGS BUTTERFLY CONSERVATORY AND GARDENS: Routes 5 & 10 Deerfield. Open 7 days/ week, fall & winter 9-5, spring & summer 9-6. (413) 665-2805. Due to a change in Magic Wings's pass policy, each pass will now only cover ONE admission. NOTE: There may be times when this pass is unavailable. Please call the library before coming in to pick it up.

SPRINGFIELD MUSEUMS ON THE QUADRANGLE. Phone (413) 263-6800 for current hours & exhibits. Free admission (maximum value per day/per usage $30) to the 4 museums: Springfield Science Museum, George Walter Vincent Smith Art Museum; Connecticut Valley Historical Museum; Museum of Fine Arts. This pass is currently unavailable.	CHILDREN'S MUSEUM AT HOLYOKE 444 Dwight St., Holyoke. Hours are Wed.-Sat. 10-4, Sun. 12-4. The pass admits 6 guests (18 mo. & under are free). The pass does not cover special events, workshops, or performance fees. (413) 536-KIDS. The museum is closed in September.		MASSACHUSETTS PARKS PASS. Entitles the bearer to free parking for one carload of visitors at over 50 facilities in the MA. State Parks System that charge a day-use parking fee. (Not valid at Nantasket & Nahant Beaches.) MASS MoCA 87 Marshall St. North Adams, MA. Admits 2 adults and 2 children to MASS MoCA’s galleries. Not valid for performing arts and film events, except events that are free with museum admission. For information on current exhibitions and gallery hours visit MASS MoCA's website or call the museum at (413) 662-1111. This pass is currently unavailable.	BRATTLEBORO MUSEUM AND ART CENTER The Brattleboro Museum & Art Center is a nonprofit organization founded in 1972, with a mission to present art and ideas in ways that inspire, educate, and engage people of all ages. Museum galleries are open daily except Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; please check for holiday and exhibit change closings. The Museum is wheelchair accessible, and parking is available in front of the building. Each pass admits 2 adults and their dependent children in the same household for FREE.		HANCOCK SHAKER VILLAGE This pass admits 2 adults and 2 children (13-17) -- 12 and under are always free. Museum hours are 10-4 daily (closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day). Hancock Shaker Village is located on Route 20 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, just west of the junction of Routes 20 and 41. To contact the museum call (800)817-1137 or check their website. GREENFIELD POOL PASS The Green River Swimming and Recreation Area features a covered Pavilion area, large picnic area, charcoal grills, basketball court, sand volleyball court, sandy river beachfront and guarded swimming area (mid June-Labor Day), concession stand and restrooms. (413) 772-1553. The library has 4 passes, each admitting 1 person. More than one pass can be borrowed at a time. This pass is available from June to Labor Day.	THE STERLING AND FRANCINE CLARK ART INSTITUTE 225 South Street, Williamstown, MA. Admits 2 adults and two children 13-17 (children under 13/ full-time students with I.D. are free.) between June and October. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Sunday 10 to 5. The Gallery is open Mondays in July and August only. Admission is free November 1 through May 31. Admission may be charged for special exhibitions. Call (413) 458-2303 or visit the Clark's website for information.	ter	DR. SPOOKY'S ANIMAL MUSEUM 220 Greenfield Road, South Deerfield, MA. Admits 1 for free admission. Walk through a mysterious landscape that exists nowhere in the real world. Reminiscent of a fantasy movie, Dr. Spooky’s castle is filled with animal facts, live exhibits and displays. Enter the caves in the castle's atrium and come face-to-face with dinosaurs! For additional information call (413) 665-5001.

MYSTIC AQUARIUM 55 Coogan Boulevard, Mystic, CT. This pass admits 2 adults and 2 children at reduced admission rates. From February through October adult reduced admission is $19.00 each and child reduced admission is $14.00 each.
