Any resident of the state of Massachusetts can get a free library card at the Greenfield Public Library. The only exceptions are an annual fee of $35 charged to people whose town libraries are not certified by the Mass. Board of Library Commissioners or to those from out of state. If you have a library card from another C/W MARS library, you may be able to use that one. Check with a librarian to see if you need a Greenfield card.
If you need a new library card, simply come to the Greenfield Public Library with a photo ID and proof of your current address (a license or mail works well), and ask the librarian at the circulation desk for an application or print out the one below. Once it is completed, you can get a card while you wait. If you lose your card, you may get a replacement card at a cost of $2.00.
If you live out of state but work in the area or just use our library regularly, or if you visit relatives in the area on a regular basis or spend part of the year at a local address, you can also get a Greenfield library card by presenting a license, proof of your current address, and the $35 fee.
