Giving to the Friends

The Friends of the Greenfield Public Library is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 charitable organization established to support and promote library services. All donations to the Friends are tax-deductible and support library services.

You can support the Friends in any of the following ways:

Annual Membership Drive – Support Your Library!
The Annual Membership Drive each spring raises funds to pay for a part-time Volunteer Coordinator to help the Library make the best use of library volunteers; for keeping the Library open on summer Saturdays; for children’s and adult programs; and for supplementing the Library’s materials budget.

Book and Other Donations for Semi-Annual Book Sales
Bring your books, CDs, DVDs, etc. to the rear door of the library and leave your donation across from the elevator.  For details on what types of materials the Friends can and cannot accept, please see the Book Sales page.

Friends’ Items for Sale at the Library
The Friends maintain a display case in the Library with various items for sale, including t-shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, note paper, and book bags.  All proceeds go directly to the Friends.

Volunteer for the Friends
Email the Friends or contact the Friends’ President if you are willing to help with a special project, e.g. sorting donated books, getting flowers ready for the spring bouquet sale, assisting with the Poet’s Seat Poetry event, helping maintain the Library’s gardens, selling raffle tickets at the County Fair, or helping out during a special fundraising event.  You’ll meet new people and help the Library at the same time.

Corporate Matching Gifts
Many employers match the gift their employers make to the Friends of the Greenfield Public Library. If your employer has this program, your gift may be doubled simply by completing the matching form provided by your employer.
