On Monday, March 19 Donald F. Nelson will talk about his book Chappaquiddick Tragedy: Kennedy’s Second Passenger Revealed at 6pm the Greenfield Public Library. With the movie Chappaquiddick coming out in April, this talk will be the perfect opportunity for anyone interested in the Kennedys to get details of what happened before they see the movie.
Don Nelson was a research physicist at Bell Labs for twenty-eight years. Having enjoyed the research and writing of a biography he wrote on his grandfather’s life after retirement, Nelson decided to explore all the original records of Sen. Ted Kennedy’s automobile accident on Chappaquiddick in 1969 to see whether an alternate account of the happenings he had heard was supported by the published forensic evidence. As supporting evidence accumulated, his “Aha!” moment came when he understood confirming inquest testimony of one witness which led him to publish Chappaquiddick Tragedy: Kennedy’s Second Passenger Revealed.
