The First Wednesday Speaker Series is pleased to welcome Patricia Peters Martin, Ph. D., and Renee Forte on Wednesday, October 3 at 6pm in the LeVanway Room of Greenfield Public Library for a discussion of their book Liars, Cheats, and Creeps: Leaving a Sociopath Behind, written as a lifeline for people who are involved with partners who lie, cheat, and mistreat their partners. Liars, Cheats, and Creeps is a user-friendly book and the next best thing to going to a support group lead by an expert therapist in family counseling. Dr. Martin guides people through the dysfunctional maze of an abusive relationship and out the other end, to happier lives. In addition, a representative from NELCWIT will be on hand to discuss services offered in Greenfield for those who need to leave abusive relationships.
Patricia Peters Martin, Ph.D., is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Georgetown University and holds a doctorate in clinical psychology from Purdue University. Dr. Martin has worked with thousands of women traumatized by domestic abuse and she facilitates therapy groups with women who are, or have been, in abusive relationships. Dr. Martin has made numerous appearances as a commentator on local television channels and as a guest columnist for a large metropolitan daily and its online affiliate.
Renee Forte is a pen name chosen to protect the identities of her wonderful children. Renee is a summa cum laude graduate of college and a member of Phi Beta Kappa, with a master’s degree from a professional school and a substantial list of professional certifications and volunteer activities.
The First Wednesday Speaker Series is generously sponsored by the Friends of Greenfield Public Library.
