“Evanston’s Living History” is a compilation of Dudnick’s interviews with members of the Evanston, Illinois African American community, including descendants of Crawford’s family and residents who lived through segregation. The documentary also describes the accomplishments of several prominent black Evanston residents, including Edwin Jourdain, the city’s first black alderman, former police chief William Logan, former fire Chief Sanders Hicks and former mayor Lorraine Morton. The documentary has no commentary. Its power is in first-person stories.
