This fall, Greenfield Public Library is collaboraring with Greenfield Community College and the Greenfield High School on a community-reading project entitled, "Reading for Change." Together we will read Jamil Zaki's groundbreaking book: The War for Kindness: Building Empathy in a Fractured World.
In The War for Kindness, Zaki describes research-informed strategies for increasing kindness and empathy in a world characterized by racial inequality, political polarization and decreasing trust in social institutions.
Please join us for a virtual kickoff event on Thursday, September 23, at 6 pm. The event will include introductions, an overview of the project, and a community building exercise! It will be helpful, though not necessary, to have read the first three chapters The War for Kindness prior to the event. Copies of the book will be available at the Greenfield Public Library.

This program, with the help of the Friends of the Greenfield Public Library, is free and open to the public.
