Join Ellen Lavoie, GPL Children’s Librarian, for a virtual Bake for Good event.

This program, from the King Arthur Baking Company, teaches kids in grades 4-8 how to bake bread from scratch and how to share the bread with others. During a 45-minute live demonstration via Zoom (participants do NOT bake along with the class), kids will learn the math and science of making bread from scratch.

After the class, kids will be able to bake the bread recipe, and make 2 loaves of bread, one to keep and one to share with someone in need or as an act of kindness.

Participants will receive Mini Baking Kits ahead of time, which include a recipe booklet, packet of yeast, dough scraper, bread bag, twist tie, and two $1 off coupons for King Arthur Flour.

Kids and families can register for the Zoom link and request a Mini Baking Kit by emailing: librarian@greenfieldpubliclibrary.org, or call us at 413 772 -1554 x 5104. This program is limited to 25 participants.

This program, generously funded by the Friends of the Greenfield Public Library, is free and intended for children in grades 4-8 and their families.
