Exploring Graphic Novels

Thursday, April 7, 2022, 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm
Online

Join us at the GPL for our virtual “Exploring Graphic Novels” book discussion. We will be exploring the genre with two selections: Jarrett J. Krosoczka’s Hey, Kiddo: How I Lost My Mother, Found My Father, and Dealt with Family Addiction, and Charlie Mackesy’s The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse.

In Hey Kiddo, Krosoczka tells the story of his childhood living with his grandparents, learning to cope with his mother’s substance abuse issues, and finding a way to express himself through art.

MacKesy’s graphic novel is the tale of a curious boy, a greedy mole, a wary fox and a wise horse who find themselves together in sometimes difficult surroundings. Together, they share their greatest fears and discoveries about vulnerability, kindness, hope, friendship and love.
