Greenfield Public Library’s Spice Club Kit Available

Monday, August 8, 9:30 am
402 Main St, Greenfield, MA

Do you love to cook and want to try new flavors and recipes? Stop by the library and pick up this month’s Spice Club Kit.

In August, we are cooking with nutmeg as we continue exploring the spices often found in the blend of Garam Masala. (Spoiler Alert: we add a little extra of each monthly spice for you to save and make your own Garam Masala for December’s recipes).

Although nutmeg is often used in fall desserts and beverages, we have found some tasty recipes pairing nutmeg with some of August’s locally grown bounty: peaches, corn, eggplant, and of course, zucchini!

This month’s spice kit contains a sample of nutmeg, recipes, a brief history, and links to our library databases featuring recipes that use the spice.

Registration is not required, but supplies are limited. The spice kits will be available on the 2nd Monday of each month, at the Main Circulation Desk, on a first come, first served basis.

Unavailable to make it into the library to pick up a kit? We have all the recipes for this and previous spices available on our Spice Club Blog at https://gplibraryma.wordpress.com/

This program, generously supported by the Friends of the Greenfield Public Library, is free and intended for ages 13 and over.
