From Starry Night to The Nighthawks, there are some images that are so ubiquitous in our culture that we have stopped looking at them closely. This program delves into these iconic works and shares the secret stories behind their creation and reception. Led by art historian Jane Oneail, owner of Culturally Curious. Jane curates and delivers art appreciation programs to audiences throughout New England. She holds a Master’s in Art History from Boston University and a Master’s in Education from Harvard University. Born and raised in New Hampshire, Jane has worked at some of the state's most esteemed cultural institutions, including the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen, where she served as Executive Director, and the Currier Museum of Art, where she held the role of Senior Educator. Jane has also taught at the college level for more than a decade, most recently at Southern New Hampshire University.
NOTE: This is a follow-up from Jane's very popular program ("Secret Stories Behind the World’s Most Iconic Paintings -- Part #1") from August 2022. Part #2 will cover completely different paintings. You're sure to enjoy Part #2 even if you did not attend Part #1!
Sponsored by the Tewksbury Cultural Council, the Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library, and the Friends of the Greenfield Public Library.
NOTE: This program will be recorded. All registrants will receive the recording via email within 24 hours of the program.
